INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), BRAC International affirms its commitment to raising awareness and promoting the dignity, rights, and perspectives of PwDs around the world. People living with disabilities have limited access to healthcare, education, employment, and finance amongst others. The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting health and welfare challenges, particularly on the most marginalized and vulnerable populations such as PwDs, highlight the importance of adopting a disability-inclusive approach to recovery and building resilience, and in development initiatives generally.
